About the 3Rs
The Royal Aero Club Records Racing and Rally Association (the 3Rs) oversees handicapped air racing, British and World aviation records (set by UK based pilots, companies or aircraft), and formal air rallies.
Our authority is delegated to us via the Royal Aero Club and their authority comes in turn from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI).
Most of our activities involve the arranging of handicapped air races including the Schneider Trophy and King’s Cup culminating in the British Air Racing and European Air Racing Championships in the UK, Northern Europe, Channel Isles, and Ireland.
Air Racing
Handicapped air racing is both an exciting sport for pilots and a great spectacle for spectators. Spectators are welcome at any of our race events and many join our organisation. See The 2015 Season race calendar for upcoming dates!
Our Air Racing Handbook explains the background of air racing and what's involved. You can also watch our air racing videos to get an exciting perspective on the racing.
World and National Records
We have delegated authority from FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale www.fai.org) to oversee National and World Record attempts by UK licenced pilots and citizens. If you are interested in setting an Aviation Record be it point to point (speed), altitude or endurance then contact Geoffrey Boot our Record Coordinator at geoffreyboot@gmail.com or see our records section.
